I'm bad...well, let me catch you up to speed on why I'm saying I'm bad. The week after my graduation ceremony Richie and I found out that we are having a baby (yay!). But as I had just finished a very intensive 3 semesters at school where sleep was a rare commodity, I wanted to take a LITTLE break from working...well...then pregnancy took over and, well...let's just say I haven't had the motivation, drive, or feeling in my hands enough to do anything. I haven't worked in 6 months. It is ridiculous. By the time I start back up my drawing is going to look like it did when I was in 8th grade. This is not cool, but I can not feel my hands and I'm not allowed to do oil paintings (fumes and bun in the oven don't play well together...) which REALLY bothers me since I've got several paintings around the house that I want to work on/finish so badly. I also haven't been shooting with my camera because I don't know what to shoot. I've always had deadlines and topics to work with, but now I'm in the deep end with no little arm floaties and I feel like I'm drowning. Ugh. I know that one day I'll work again, I just need a jump start...anyone have any project suggestions? Preferably with my camera since, like I said, I haven't REALLY been able to feel my hands for the last 3 months. Norma...I need you!
One more time
One more time now, from the top...I'm getting my ass back in gear. I've been kicking an idea around for a few weeks now and I've finally started working on it tonight. I'm terribly excited but very nervous about my new baby project, because it really is a baby...I only thought of it a few weeks ago. It's so fresh and new I'm nervous I'll drop it and break it, much like a newborn. But enough weird analogies. I'm posting a little snippet of my first set tonight. I doubt anyone actually reads this except maybe Amanda because she loves me so very much, but I'm sure those of you that actually follow my work will be excited (or confused) to see new
Getting back on track
So, the last few years my creativity has left me. And not just a "hey, I'm running to the store for more paint, do you need anything?"...no my creativity up and left my ass. The "You've mistreated me, overworked me and taken me for granted so I jacked all your shit and I'm on a vendetta to ruin your life from here on out" kind of leaving. To recap, my last year of college I overloaded my schedule something awful with 4 studios and a regular class each semester with my senior show as the kicker (which was suicide...I did it but I was SO burned out after, my show work is up here though). I graduated and was super proud of myself, then a wee
Crunch and Munch
I'm very tired, and a tad overworked, and a whole lot of slap happy, so this will be short. I've got exactly 2 weeks to get my show together to present to the jury. What do you guys think? Which images are the most abstract?
I Rock
How much do I rock? I rock hard. I had a meeting with my adviser this morning and he said that I'm definitely on the right track with the food pictures for my show (it's all due in less than a month! OMG!) So here is where you come in. My next shoot is going to be candy (maybe candy and rice) but beyond that it usually takes me a minute to think of a new food to photograph (since I'm poor and don't really eat, there's not much food in the house and certainly not enough to waste!) So I'd like your opinion. What food(s) should I do next?

Hmmm... well, I'm not sure what to suggest. What are you inspired by at the moment? Really, if you're out of the photo-takin' jive - you could just meander around and see what strikes your fancy. You may see things differently while being pregnant (which would be interesting b/c you did a project a while ago based on how a small child would see them. Eh? eh???!!) You could start there and then move forward. Also - why can't you feel your hands?!?! That's bad! Hmmm...
*thinking*
You seem to like texture and macro stuff... goop? What about the goopy stuff kids make when their in like, the fifth grade?? Like silly putty or whatever? You could play with that? The texture of that? You could make weird shit out of FIMO and photograph it - or make a little world on a table top? That'd be fun! You could draw some of the stuff, paint (in perhaps acrylic or water colour) parts of it, and then make the rest of it out of random things and then photograph it!
OH! Now I want to do that, but with melted baby dolls and weird spiders made from bullet casings!!!
